Discuss the record
01The record

Keep the record whole; offer nothing from it.

Weft is the July 2026 endovascular research concept: a sparse vascular sensing ribbon with a tapered receiver and a discreet external clasp, drawn for durable computer and environment access by people whose usual movement is unreliable. Its registry status is reference. The integration tree, the design record and this page stay in the repository so the record is whole; no device, clinical product or service is offered or planned from it.

02The physical design

A vascular ribbon. An everyday clasp.

Weft pairs a sparse, segmented vascular interface with a tapered implanted receiver and a discreet curved external clasp. Each part has a separate role in a continuous power and derived-data path.

Weft anatomy separating the curved external clasp shell, functional boards and open carrier beside the vascular ribbon, lead and proposed internal receiver zones.
AnatomyResearch concept — hardware unvalidated

55 × 19 × approx. 6–7 mm

A curved external form target. The enlarged implanted ribbon, lead and receiver are schematic and not to scale; power, alignment, heat and clinical suitability remain unresolved.

  1. A light, segmented sensing study.

Passive sensing islands connect through compliant bridges and a slender lead to the internal receiver. The enlarged vascular ribbon explains the selected branch without prescribing anatomical fit or an access procedure.

  2. Process before the boundary.

The internal receiver reserves acquisition, local feature extraction and power conditioning. The external clasp supplies the proposed coupling path; it cannot move to an arbitrary garment location and retain alignment.

  3. Keep the daily handling outside.

An open replaceable carrier leaves the coupling window unobstructed. A broad assist tab helps removal, and a shaped dock charges the removed relay. The depicted implant depends on continuous external power.

03Why it is registered

Why the record is kept.

A registry row, a devices tree and a catalog entry are one identity (ADR-0037), so a concept the company does not pursue is kept as reference code rather than deleted. Weft is not part of the company story: Cr4dle is a non-commercial research programme now; what Cr4dle plans to offer in a later phase, behind dated gates, is collections of consented, labelled episodes recorded on the capture kit on bought sensors, the kit licence and dataset licences, each collection with a dataset card; nothing is offered for sale today. Physiology such as the arousal and wake state this code simulates is a recorded research column, never a product, and an invasive interface would need its own evidence path, specialist clinical partners and design controls before anything is said about it.

Our approach to evidence
04Work in progress

Where we are.
What comes next.

Implemented reference: a synthetic arousal and wake-state monitor over the shared runtime, retained as is. Implantable hardware, a clinically supported interface and home use were always a future partner programme; none is pursued.

A clear boundary

Minimally invasive still means invasive. A research architecture is not evidence of safety, effectiveness or clinical readiness, and reference code establishes no capability; all Weft hardware and outcomes remain unvalidated.

Recorded direction, not pursued (reference code only)

Designed forEveryday access, on the record.
Choose a message, use a computer or control a room through dependable intentional input, while keeping a familiar personal workspace.
Next proofStart with a person’s daily task.
With clinical partners, establish useful control, setup burden and interruption behavior. Evaluate the selected vascular route against less invasive access options.
Research horizonAccess that lasts beyond a session.
Research years of stable control, minimal recalibration and independent home use. Core functions and portable personal context should survive a service outage or a hardware change.
